DISTSS Forum - Abuse Against People with a Disability - Monday 14 April 2008

Forum Overview - Abuse towards people with disabilities often occur in many subtle ways and can have a significant impact on the quality of life of individuals. Abuse in the disability sector is not often discussed, researched or thought about, however we all know that it is there. This forum will provide a platform to discuss strategies regarding the protection and support for people with a disability.

The Disability State Plan

The State Disability Plan outlines the Victorian Government's vision for the future and some strategies for realising this vision.

The plan outlines a new approach to disability for the Victorian Government and the community as a whole.

This approach reaffirms the rights that people with a disability have, to live and participate in the community as citizens of Victoria.

  • Workforce Analysis
    This strategic project profiled the Victorian NGO disability sector workforce. This was a joint project conducted for VICRAID, ACROD and CIDA by Precision Consultancy. This was the first workforce data collected for ten years and provides valuable snapshot and planning information in relation to the 8,650 people employed by 300 disability service providers.
